
Spotlight Playhouse, situated at 214 Richmond Road, Berea, Kentucky, is excited to announce auditions for a captivating adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless classic, “The Great Gatsby.” This version, meticulously adapted and directed by the talented Chad Hembree, promises to transport audiences to the Roaring Twenties, an era of jazz, glamour, and unbridled ambition. Brought to you by the Bluegrass Players community acting troupe, this production will delve deep into the opulent world of Jay Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan, and the intricate web of relationships and desires that define them.
We’re calling upon passionate performers of all ages to be a part of this mesmerizing tale. Here’s your chance to embody characters that have become literary legends:
- Jay Gatsby: The enigmatic millionaire with a mysterious past.
- Daisy Buchanan: The beautiful and shallow object of Gatsby’s obsession.
- Tom Buchanan: Daisy’s wealthy and aggressive husband.
- Nick Carraway: The story’s narrator and Gatsby’s neighbor.
- Jordan Baker: A competitive golfer and Daisy’s friend.
- Myrtle Wilson: Tom’s lover who dreams of a better life.
- George Wilson: Myrtle’s husband and a struggling garage owner.
…and several other roles that capture the essence of the Jazz Age.
